Riflery is the newest
summer camp
activity choice at
Bear River
Ranch. The range was used for the first time by
campers during the summer of 2009. It quickly proved
to be one of the most popular summer camp activity choices.
Bear River Ranch
staff are certified through the Civilian Marksmanship
Program to ensure a safe and fun activity.
Many camper who enjoy riflery at camp also enjoy
Archery,
Survival Skill, Camp Fire Cooking,
Adopt
an Animal and CSI.
Riflery Camp is the newest summer
course to be offered at Cub Creek Science Camp. Taking
riflery at summer camp gives kids a basic introduction to
fire arm safety and the
chance to build their skills.
Riflery is offered as both a week long
summer camp course or a one hour camp class. Campers who sign up for riflery will have
the option of spending 1 hour everyday at the range or just
visiting the range for a one hour introduction to riflery.
All campers will complete a rifle
safety course prior to shooting.
Camp uses single shot ,bolt action 22
cal rifles
Campers will shoot from prone
position (laying down).
Campers shoot targets set at 50 feet
After proficiency has been gained
campers may increase the target range
Riflery is offered to Senior Campers
(12-17 years old)
