Fallow Green Cheeked
Conures
The fallow green cheek is a color mutation of
the normal green cheek. Fallow is a diluting mutation - all
of the green cheeks naturally lovely colors are muted to
pastel shades, creating a bird that is also just lovely in
color!
Fallow in green cheeks is a sex-linked
mutation. Confusingly, fallow in cockatiels and other birds
is recessive, while cinnamon is sex-linked. So,
technically, the fallow green cheek should be called
cinnamon - but people call it fallow, so fallow it is!

At Cub Creek Science Camp we have a pair
of Fallow Green Cheeked Conure, Cinnamon Green Cheeked Conures called Conrad and Connie.
This color mutation is commonly called cinnamon among
breeders today, so you may see either name referring to the
same bird. These lovely Conures are housed in The Jungle
area of the Ranch. We are hoping for some baby Fallow
Green Cheeked Conures soon.
